Game Day Workflow:
Check-in Methods: Each game uses QR Code by default โ print the QR ticket and display it at the entrance. Students scan with their phone to check in. GPS is available as an alternative.
Cancel / Postpone: Right from a game card. Students see a CANCELLED badge and get a push; postponed games move on the schedule automatically.
Select a sport at the top, then add players with their name, number, position, grade, and optional headshot photo.
Students see the roster when they check into a game and on each sport's page. Seniors are highlighted with a senior badge in your school's accent color.
Tip: Tap the Captain button to mark a player as team captain.
When students redeem points in the store, their orders show up here. Each order has a QR code the student brings to the athletic office.
To fulfill an order: Enter the student's code in the lookup box or find their order in the pending list, then click Mark Picked Up.
Students who are checked in to a game can post photos to that game's feed. Photos are sorted by likes so the best shots rise to the top. Every photo is tied to the student's real name and school email for accountability.
Moderation: Hide removes a photo from the student feed instantly. Flag marks it for review. Students can also report photos themselves.
Every student has a real name (first + last, shown to admins for accountability) and an optional nickname (what shows up to other students). Real names are locked โ students can't edit them directly, so if something is wrong (typo at signup, legal name change, etc.) they submit a request from their account page.
Reviewing: Pending requests appear at the top of the Students tab. You see the current name, the requested name, and their reason. Click Approve to update the real name instantly โ the student's display name updates too (nickname wins if set, otherwise the new real name). Click Deny to reject.
Sports: Add every sport your school offers. Each sport needs a name, an emoji icon, and a season assignment (Fall, Winter, or Spring). Click EDIT on any sport to change its settings.
Seasons: Activate and deactivate seasons as the year progresses. When you activate Winter, winter sports move to the front of the student app. You can have multiple seasons active at once (e.g. Fall football playoffs while Winter basketball starts).
โจ Post Rewind: When a season winds down, click Post Rewind on that season's card. Students see a "Your Season Rewind" card on their account page with their year-in-review stats (games attended, streak, predictions, points, achievements) that they can swipe through and share to stories. Post it a few weeks before activating the next season so students have time to view and share.
Add items that students can redeem with their earned points. Set a name, description, point cost, and quantity. Upload a photo for each item.
Default items are pre-loaded. Replace them with your own school merch whenever you're ready.
How students earn points: 10 pts for checking in (first game of week), 5 pts for bonus check-ins that week, 25 pts for each correct prediction, 30 pt bonus at 3-game streaks, 50 pt "3 games in a season" milestone, 100 pt perfect-attendance bonus, 2x points on boosted games.
Add local business sponsors. They show up on the student app's Sponsors page. Optionally add a special offer for each sponsor โ it only appears when you set one.
There's also a "Become a Sponsor" form on the student side where local businesses can express interest.
Pick your primary and secondary colors. The entire student app updates โ buttons, icons, accents, the GrandStand logo, senior badges, and the glow on boosted games all shift to your palette.
Use the live preview to see how your colors will look before saving.
Students tap Send Feedback on their account page, pick a category (Bug, Idea, Other), and type a message. Submissions go to the GrandStand master dashboard โ the product team sees every submission and replies to major ones.
If a student asks you about a bug or feature, point them at Send Feedback so the issue gets logged.
What's automated: Game-day morning reminders, prediction-lock warnings, and post-game result pushes all fire automatically based on your schedule. You don't need to send these manually.
Use manual send for: Extra hype before a rivalry or homecoming, store restocks, school-wide announcements, weather cancellations.
Pick a template or write your own. Only students with notifications enabled will receive it.
Select the sport, enter the opponent, date/time, and venue. Check-in defaults to QR Code โ print the ticket and post it at the entrance. GPS is available as an alternative. Predictions are automatically generated from the sport's template pool.
Upload a CSV file to bulk-import your schedule. The system auto-detects sports, creates them if new, and generates predictions for every game.
Key points:
Download the CSV template from the Import tab for the correct format.
